Forever, God Is Faithful to Keep His Promises

LORD, You have treated Your servant well, just as You promised. Teach me good judgment and discernment, for I rely on Your commands.

Psalm 119:65-66

Praising God

Praising God

These verses remind me of the song, “Forever God Is Faithful.” God is faithful to love us and care for us throughout the storms of life and throughout the many blessings of life. He treats us well in the good times and in the bad. Being thrown in the middle of painful circumstance such as cancer or divorce, does not mean that we are not treated well. God keeps His promises, but He does not promise a pain-free life.

During every time in our life, whether good or bad, we are to thank God for His faithfulness. We should praise Him and honor Him continually. Even in the worst of circumstances, we are truly loved by God. His love was shown most clearly on the cross when he sent His only son to die for us so that our sins could be forgiven. Yes, God is good, and we should remember to thank Him every day.

In addition to being thankful, we should pray to God for judgment and discernment. Our lives can certainly improve by making good decisions, and God has all the wisdom we’ll ever need to help us to make the right choices. Before making decisions, we should pray for wisdom. We should also¬†thank God for His promise to give us the wisdom that we need. James 1:5 tells us “Now if any of you lack wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without criticizing, and it will be given to him.”

As we pray for wisdom, we should continue to read the Bible and look for Bible passages that are related to the problems we are facing. Are there specific verses that deal with these issues? One way to locate Bible verses about a specific topic is to go to and click on the Topical Index on the right hand side. You can type in the topic that you want to research, and it will bring up Bible verses related to that topic.

When searching for wisdom on how to live life, the book of Proverbs is a good place to start. It gives practical wisdom about everyday problems and situations.
